Mr. Dongseung Shin began his judicial career in 1989 as a judge at the Cheongju District Court. He served 19 years on the bench and 11 years and 6 months as a Constitutional Research Officer before joining Gaon Law Firm in March 2022. During his judicial tenure, he handled civil, criminal, and family cases at various courts, including the Seoul Administrative Court and the Special Division of the Seoul High Court (now the Administrative Division), where he dealt with numerous tax and administrative cases.
From 2008, he served for 10 years at the Constitutional Court of Korea as Senior and Chief Constitutional Research Officer, gaining extensive experience in constitutional litigation.
Since the early 1990s, Mr. Shin has been an active member of the Tax Law Research Society (later developed into the Korean Association of Tax Law), serving successively as Director of Research and Vice President.
